Oswego Health | Inside Healthcare | Covid-19

Oswego County is our community, and the safety and well-being of our residents has always been and remains our main priority. Even though new COVID-19 cases are still being reported as our nation begins to “reopen,” I want to assure you that Oswego Health has implemented many new measures at our hospital and our practices throughout Oswego County in an effort to lessen the risk of infection. Among them: • Visitation was suspended • Our staff is using protective gear throughout our facilities • We are also screening staff and patients who arrive before they enter our facilities • We are asking all patients and staff to wear masks We have constructed a triage tent outside of the emergency department (ER) at Oswego Hospital to assist with screening of patients prior to entry into the facility. All patients arriving at the Oswego Hospital ER will first be evaluated in the triage area and cleared for any respiratory illness before continuing into the hospital. If a patient has symptoms of respiratory illness, they will continue to be seen by a provider in the tent for further evaluation. Protecting our community We have reacted quickly to this rapidly changing situation and we are making every effort we can to protect our patients, staff and community. Our entire health system is prepared to meet the challenges of COVID-19. Stay healthy, Duane Tull, MD Chief Medical Officer Inside Healthcare STAY INFORMED.
